About Us

Larkfield Housing Association was established in 1996 and acquired 565 properties from Scottish Homes in February 1997. The Association is registered with the Scottish Housing Regulator and is affiliated to the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations. Tenant control and Committee of Management accountability are fundamental to the core objectives and success of Larkfield Housing Association.

Newsletters are sent out quarterly to all tenants and owners, in addition to the Annual Report. Tenant and owner meetings are held to consult over Major Repair Works and Modernisation Programmes. The Annual General Meeting is open to all members of the Association at which the Accounts are presented and members can vote on the business decisions being proposed.

    Our vision and aims

    Larkfield's vision is to provide quality housing services, improve the range of affordable housing for all sectors of the community and to make a difference to people's lives.

    Larkfield Housing Association's main objectives are to:

    1. Improve the range of housing within the area of operation
    2. Improve the range of services and products for people who use or may use Larkfield services
    3. Widen housing and tenure choice for people living in the Inverclyde area by ensuring inclusion in new initiatives and developing new models.
    4. To help alleviate homelessness through the operation of a Section 5 Protocol with Inverclyde Council and tenancy sustainability strategy.
    5. Adapt existing stock to suit the needs of customers
    6. To seek continuous improvement in service delivery and customer satisfaction
    7. Contribute to the wider role agenda on social inclusion by pursuing community and health initiatives which may result in improvement in health, employment and training opportunities within the area.
    8. Continue to work with the whole community to create a safe and secure environment where people want to live and work.
    9. To develop our people to improve capacity to support and deliver our business aims.
    10. Extend our services to more people.
    11. Provide housing at affordable and sustainable rents.
    12. To encourage the fullest participation by tenants and local residents in all areas of the AssociationŐs activities through active membership of the Association and its Committees.

    Performance

    The Association has been awarded a "B" Grade by the Scottish Housing Regulator for Very Good Performance. During last year the Association was re-accredited with "Investors In People" status.

    Housing Stock

    The Association currently owns and manages 401 properties and has a very low void rate of 0.15%. Annual rental income is £1.4 million with a large proportion of this used to carry out major repair and improvement works.
